Finding used Subaru Parts

When looking for car parts for Japanese vehicles, finding parts can sometimes be a little bit of a hassle. It's not too terrible, but it can be annoying. When you're trying to find specific used parts to fit your budget, however, the task becomes more difficult. Used Subaru parts are one of the items that are most in demand, and unfortunately, that makes it even more difficult to find used parts. So how can you find used Subaru parts in order to get your vehicle working better (or just working)? What's the best way to go for your time and your budget?

There are a few major options. The first is to look online. There are a lot of used car part dealers, and these include places who are willing to ship out parts directly to you. The problems with this method are that it's really not the best for your budget. It absolutely will give you the widest variety of used parts, it will give you the most convenient method of ordering, and even though you have to wait for the part, you're pretty much guaranteed to find that the part is working when you get it. They've tested it, and if it doesn't work, they'll usually give you a refund. You're paying for that, though. The customer service, testing, and everything else that goes into it all costs these companies money – and it comes out of your pocket. The shipping costs can be small for some parts, but for others they're a little ridiculous.

The other option for those on a tight budget is to go to a junkyard. Don't go to a junkyard until you've called ahead to see what years and models of Subaru vehicles they have in stock. The used Subaru parts available may be compatible with your car, but you'll want to check before you take the trip. You'll also need to remove the part yourself, and they're usually sold as-is, so there's no guarantee. That being said, the price you pay is often half or less of what you'd pay online.
