First, pull the rubber floor mats out of the vehicle completely. You'll want to put them on a flat surface that isn't dirty, grimy, or anything similar. Using a hose, spray down the mats at a high pressure so you can blast anything that has managed to cake on. Once sprayed down, shake the mats until they are free from any large areas of water (they don't have to be completely dry). Now, spray the rubber down with a protector spray designed for rubber. Depending on your style, you may want to go for a neutral, high gloss, or some other spray. With all this said and done, you will wipe down the rubber. You won't want to wipe it down with a standard towel, however. Rather, you will want to use something microfiber in order to work the gloss and cleaning to the maximum possible degree. This is a large part of how you get the sheen. You can do double coating if you'd like, re-spray areas that don't seem as impacted as you'd like, and so forth. Once this is all said and done, just put the rubber floor mats back in the car and you're good to go! |
