Street racing parts

Building a street racing car is a very appealing activity for those with a weakness for adrenaline and speed.  To do this, you're going to need to have a car that works well for street racing and the ability to modify the car (meaning that you can afford the street racing parts and have the know how to install them).  Here are some of the mandatory parts to replace if you want an effective racing car.

First, you're going to need to work on the internals of your engine.  Your engine is going to take a lot more pressure from street racing than it would from long commutes, so you need to make sure it's ready for the higher stress load and power.  You will generally need to get new durable stock internals for real reinforcement.

Second, you'll need to get racing brakes.  Rally car brakes or other performance breaks are a must have.  Do this prior to souping up your engine for maximum safety.  In addition to brakes you may want a rolling kit as a “just in case” for accidents.

Third, start modifying your intake and exhaust systems in order to maximize the flow of cold air to your engine (and its own self-cooling system.  There are air intake and exhaust systems from various brands for various vehicles that will work well for this purpose.

Fourth, modify your engine.  You'll want some sort of forced fuel intake system, and the best is something computerized.  You can go for a turbo or a supercharger, with the turbo being faster but less reliable.  When you install this system, be sure to include additional internal cooling systems.
