Street legal racing cars > Info > Street racing cars Street racing carsIf you're looking to get into street racing, there are a few things you need to be aware of first. One is the laws surrounding street racing. Street racing is only legal in areas where it's specifically cleared and designated in advance, and there are really good reasons for this. The death tolls of street racing are astonishingly high. Be certain that you do this safely. Now that you've checked into that, you're going to need a killer car to get you blazing on the street. Here are the top three street racing cars. When it comes to street racing cars, one of the best is the Mitsubishi Eclipse. This car has a non-modified horsepower of over 260. The GT has been a major model in the street racing scene for a long time, including in the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious. The performance parts for this model are also really great. The V6 engine has a shocking amount of torque, too – over 260lb per foot. When appropriately modified, you can do a quarter mile run in under 10 seconds. The Nissan Skyline is a gorgeous car that will absolutely get you going on the track quickly. This car was never actually sold in the states, and has to be modified in order to be driven legally – but off the line, it can run a 13 second quarter mile. When modified fully, you can easily break into even more gorgeous time lines. Our favorite is the Corvette. The Chevy Corvette Z06 is another of the commonly used models for street racing cars, and for very good reason. It's been a staple in the industry sine the 1950s, and has a long history of being a “speed demon.” As a result, the performance parts for this model are especially good. The v8 engine pumps out 505 horsepower, you get a massive 470 lb per foot of torque, and that's with stock parts. “Burning rubber” becomes literal with this model. |
