Building a rally car > Info > Buying Your Rally Car Buying Your Rally Car
When you're buying a rally car, there are a lot of things to consider, especially if you're new to rally racing. This investment is definitely substantial and it's not one that you want to make in a rush. There are multiple directions you can go when looking at the rally cars for sale on today's market. The two most major are to buy a car that's “racing ready” or buy a car that you'll need to modify. A “racing ready” car will be modified already, and will usually be a good all-around vehicle already loaded with performance parts and that has already had a modification kit installed. There are a couple of problems with taking this route. One is that you are usually paying for someone else to have worked on the car. Another is that they may have upgraded the car in ways you wouldn't have chosen, or not upgraded it in ways that require you to make additional modifications. The good thing about this way is that if you're not totally comfortable modifying your car yet, or would hire a mechanic anyway, that you are often saving money in comparison. For those who like working on their own vehicle, buying one of the used rally cars for sale on today's market can be an excellent idea. You can then install your preferred mod kits and performance parts to customize it to your specific needs (or, who are we kidding, whims). |
