Performance parts are an often underrated addition to any vehicle.  These parts have been shown to have a significant impact on the quality of a vehicle's performance in a dozen different areas – whether that's gas mileage, torque, acceleration, or top speed.  Many of these areas are beneficial regardless of who you are or why you're driving, but amongst racers especially there is a knowledge of how good these parts can be.  Further, of the options for racers (and even other drivers), Subaru performance parts are going to get you better options than many of their competitors.

There are several different models of Subaru which work really well for racing.  The top pick tends to be the Impreza, but the WRX, STI, Legacy, and Forester have all seen very successful renditions in rally racing, especially when modified with the best possible performance parts.

There are multiple directions that you can go when you're looking for Subaru performance parts.  Option one is that you can get kits.  Kits are really good if you haven't done much modification, don't have much expertise, or just want improvements in all of the various areas.  There are different stages of kits depending on how serious you want your modifications to be.  The other option is that you can modify individual parts.  This isn't recommended for beginners, and even for experts can cost more than the kits (which usually come with a discount for buying multiple items), but is great if you're just looking to modify a few parts or if you know your vehicle really well.

This can be anything from rims and wheels to microchips to turbo kits, and whatever you choose, it's important that you first do your research.  Different years of the same model of car aren't always mutually compatible, and the same definitely applies to different models of cars.  As always, the first rule of car modification is to hit the books – then hit the road, peeling out like you never have before.
